the newest scout

Scout – all the rage, right?!  I just can’t stop.

IMG_3645It’s sweaty in Baltimore.

Anyways, when I made my linen and wool Scout, I drafted a collar with some leftover Archer fabric.  I loved the color so much, and loved how it looked with my Scout pre-sleeve insertion, that I thought I would put it to use on a sleeveless Scout.

I used the Wiksten tank hem again, by laying that pattern piece over the Scout pattern, matching them at the armholes, and used bias binding to finish the armholes the same way as the neck.IMG_3570

This was a stashbuster, hence the variety of fabrics.  I think I would have preferred all green, but I’ll take it.

  1. Me too! I’ve already mentioned how much I like the collar, and I like all the different colors. Also, I like the maps behind you in the first picture. And your necklace.

    • Thank you! I’m glad the mixed colors turned out ok.

We have kind of a map collection going on on that wall – the big one is the little town in NH that my dad grew up in, one map of it in 1867 and one in 1967.

  2. I’m loving your scouts and your collars! I think the green really suits you and while the grey one will be perfect for fall this one looks airy and just right for summer 🙂 The scout is such a great pattern. I made it only once, ages ago but you have me thinking I should pull it out again!

    • Thanks! You should pull it out again – its such a good basic pattern to get creative with AND its so nice to sew from a pattern you’ve ALREADY printed, taped together, and cut – it feels so fast!
